Buongiorno a tutti,

mi chiamo Martina e oggi parlerò degli benefici di sapere un’altra lingua.

Sono di origini Italiana però sono nata in Australia, allora parlo italiano e inglese. Sono sempre stata appassionata dell’italiano. La cosa che mi piace di più’ di questa bella lingua e che posso parlare con la mia famiglia in italia senza l’aiuto dei miei genitori. Un’altro aspetto positivo di sapere una lingua straniera e che quando esco con i miei genitori o con qualcuno che sa l’italiano posso parlare tranquillamente e nessuno può capire cosa stiamo dicendo.

Quando ho cominciato le scuole superiore era obbligatorio imparare una lingua oltre l’inglese, allora io ho deciso di imparare l’italiano. Un beneficio di imparare una lingua straniera, molto utile per gli studenti, e’ che sapendo una lingua straniera ti rende più’ intelligente. Questo e perché il tuo cervello riesce a riconoscere, negoziare senso e comunicare con sisteme di lingue diverse. Gli studenti che studiano o sanno una lingua straniera hanno una tendenza a prendere voti più alti in matematica, lettura e vocabolario.

Nel futuro vorrei andare in vacanza in Italia, e sapendo l’italiano posso andare in giro l’italia senza avere l’ansia che non saprò parlare o capire la lingua. Posso anche aiutare altre persone che parlano solo l’inglese e fare come traduttrice per loro. Sapendo un’altra lingua posso trovare un lavoro come una guida turistica e potrò portare le persone in giro per l’italia. In fine penso che imparando una lingua straniera abbia molti benefici e spero che dopo questo discorso almeno uno di voi avreste il desiderio di imparare una lingua straniera.

Good morning everyone,

my name is Martina and today I will talk about the benefits of knowing another language.

I am of Italian origin but I was born in Australia, so I speak Italian and English. I've always been passionate about Italian. The thing I like most about this beautiful language is that I can speak with my family in Italy without the help of my parents. Another positive aspect of knowing a foreign language is that when I go out with my parents or with someone who knows Italian I can speak quietly and no one can understand what we are saying.

When I started high school it was mandatory to learn a language other than English, so I decided to learn Italian. A benefit of learning a foreign language, which is very useful for students, is that knowing a foreign language makes you smarter. This is because your brain is able to recognize, negotiate meaning and communicate with different language systems. Students who study or know a foreign language have a tendency to get higher grades in math, reading and vocabulary.

In the future I would like to go on vacation to Italy, and knowing Italian I can go around Italy without the anxiety that I will not be able to speak or understand the language. I can also help other people who only speak English and do as a translator for them. Knowing another language I can find a job as a tour guide and I will be able to take people around Italy. Finally I think that learning a foreign language has many benefits and I hope that after this talk at least one of you would have the desire to learn a foreign language.
