Coffee Addicts Anonymous - Ashfield Edition

As someone who has had coffee from 3/7 of the continents it's safe to say I know good coffee when I see it. I’ve had amazing coffee - from Paris’ best cafes, and possibly the worst tasting liquid in Westminster London - my brother aptly describing it as, “As if they took the cup and ran it up the gutter.”

Nevertheless, Australia has been quoted in a number of top ten lists as having the best tasting coffee in the world. To honour this, here are my top 3 cafes in the Ashfield area.

P.S. These cafes are not for before or after school! ;)

Normcore Ashfield

This store not only has amazing coffee but actually uses their own award winning house blended coffee beans. The small cozy atmosphere is inviting and warm, and a beautiful place to study or read a book. A small hot coffee is $4.00 and an iced coffee is $5.00.

The Urban Artisans

An Ashfield favourite, The Urban Artisans is a small cafe near the entrance of Ashfield mall with an extensive breakfast and lunch menu and something for everyone. While they don’t have their own coffee bean blend, the baristas are amazingly talented, serving the best quality coffee in every cup. A small hot coffee from Urban is $3.80 and an iced latte is $5.00. This affordable location is brilliant for a saturday morning brunch with family or friends.

Gloria Jeans

Among one of the most recognisable coffee chains, Gloria Jeans in Ashfield mall is the best place to start for someone only just starting to drink coffee. With their coffee chillers and amazing flavourings it's the perfect location for someone who is not as experienced in drinking coffee. With a small “classic” hot coffee being $4.00 and a small iced coffee being $5.00 this affordable location is perfect for an on the go pick me up.
