How to put the 'I' into Isolation

hey everyone!

quarantine life is a new experience for all of us and it’s super important that we take care of ourselves and others. Here are some ideas on things to do that promote self-care and growth:


  • Bubble bath – take a bubble bath, this can help relax the tension in muscles and help you rest easier.


  • Phone – limit your phone use, especially an hour before going to bed. as hard as it is to not scroll on tiktok for hours, it’s really not good for you.


  • Netflix – binge-watch that show on netflix that you’ve been meaning to do forever. have a movie marathon! we have nothing but time.


  • Create – get artsy! rip out your pencils, pens, paintbrushes, whatever you have. stimulate your creativity and get weird.


  • Tiktok – create a tiktok account! you can create original content or consume the vast amount of content there is to consume from all around the world.


  • Cook & Bake – this is the perfect time to learn how to cook! if you practice, when you come back to a normal life you can bring your friends some baked goodies.


  • Homework – do some homework, as much as you probably don’t want to, it will help stimulate your mind, to mentally prepare you for when we go back to school.


  • Chocolate – eat that easter chocolate, it’s delicious! but make sure to take care of yourself.


  • Pamper yourself – have a spa day, whether it’s by yourself, with your family or even call some friends. paint those nails, put a facemask on, and listen to some jams :)


  • Call – it’s super important to check up on friends and family. quarantine affects everyone differently and it can be difficult for some.


  • Light exercise – one of the most important self cares you can do is some light exercise. we are so used to walking around school, so make up for that with a bike ride, walk around the block or even get some workout videos from youtube.


  • Read a book – some of us have piles of books we’ve been procrastinating to read. read them! We should keep our minds busy and stimulated.


  • Music – listen to some jams and have a dance party, trust me, it’s really fun. If you’re stuck on some songs to listen to, wildflower has a spotify account :)


  • Family – spend time with family, we’re stuck with them. our lives are so busy, and quarantine gives us a chance to take a break and catch up with them.


  • Declutter – rearrange and clean that room, it’s important to keep our rooms a healthy environment as we are spending more time in them than usual.


  • Mental Health check – this is a difficult time, if you need to talk to someone these helplines are open 24/7 and are happy to help.

I hope everyone is happy, healthy, and safe. It’s a confusing time, so we must all be there for each other and hope it will all be over soon.
