it’s been a while since I’ve done a fashion article! Today I’ll be telling you some secrets to being trendy with simple outfits, with my secrets to rocking different fashion aesthetics. I don’t have an ultimate aesthetic when it comes to fashion. I lean towards experimenting with whatever I can to create in my cupboard. In this article, I have six outfits, ultimately different aesthetics, with something all in common.
I wear jeans in every one.
Jeans are one of my favourite items of clothing, sent from the heavens itself, it’s not only the most versatile piece of clothing, but it’s also great for people like me who can get insecure about their legs. In this article, I use two different pairs of jeans. So enjoy! And delve into my top 10 secrets to rocking different aesthetics in fashion.
#1 accessorise! accessorise! accessorise!
These outfits all use different accessories to emphasize the aesthetic. There are many good places to search for accessories such as kmart, target, cotton on and lovisa. Accessories can pull a whole fit together.
#2 find what suits your body
For me, I find baggy jeans flattery to my body. When it comes to fashion as hard as it can be you need to work with your body. Working with your beautiful body is key!! And hey! Sometimes I have to put some items of clothing back on the rack no matter how much I love it. (it’s a different kind of pain)
#3 research is key
One of the ways to make a perfect outfit is to have a vision or idea of what you want. For me, I find pinterest boards helpful, full of inspiration for what to wear. If you don’t know what to look for, check out the wildflower pinterest in the socials area ^^
#4 dress for you! And no-one else!
The moment my fashion sense improved was the moment I dressed for myself. People might not always agree with your outfit choices but stuff them!! Fashion is all about your preference and what you love!!
#5 you don’t need to rely on high-end brands in fashion to look good.
You don’t actually need high-end brand clothing to look good. A lot of my closet comes from stores like kmart, cotton on and lovisa. It’s about taking the time to really search for perfect fits that can pull it all together. But hey if you want to rock high-end brands go you!!!
#6 find your niche
Finding the niche store that makes the majority of clothes that suit you takes time, but makes shopping so much easier once you’ve found it. For me, my niche store is cotton on. I find everything in there that flatters my body shape, is trendy, affordable and super comfortable.
#7 colour coordination is fun :)
I don’t know if you can tell, but from my styles, I adore colour coordination and combinations. I usually stick to about 2-3 colours and match all of my outfit from head to toe. It can be super fun to colour coordinate fits.
#8 experiment with different styles and aesthetics
Who says you have to stick to one style and aesthetic?! Some of my best fits such as outfit four, was a complete surprise and experiment from my cupboard. I adore the hawaiian dad, punk rock vibe from it and I’m still so proud of putting it together.
#9 thrifting
Thrifting is also an amazing, affordable and eco friendly way to shop. Going on the hunt for the perfect outfit is a thrilling day out to get my mind off the busy reality of year 12. Grab some of your friends, or venture on your own out and give thrifting a try!
#10 confidence is key!!
I can confirm this from first-hand experience, you will look your absolute best no matter what you’re wearing when you are confident with yourself!! For some like me, I feel confident and comfortable when I dress super extra, but for others, they may feel more confident and comfortable in a simpler style.
