Bindi Sue Irwin is a passionate wildlife conservationist, who has inherited her parents' love for wildlife and wild places. Born to Wildlife Warriors Steve and Terri Irwin, Bindi is a determined soul, destined to make a positive difference on the planet. Australia Zoo has always been her home. Every animal is part of her family. She could not get through her day without connecting with the animals around her, particularly the echidnas, which are her favourites.

Bindi made her television debut through The Crocodile Hunter and has a naturally kind and engaging personality. As Bindi: The Jungle Girl, she used her enthusiasm for wildlife to help educate others, both young and old, about the importance of caring for wildlife.

Just as Irwin was set to branch out on her own, she experienced a terrible loss, in 2006. Her father died after being stung by a stingray while snorkeling at Australia's Great Barrier Reef. He had been filming for Bindi Irwin's new television series. At Steve Irwin's memorial service, held at the Australia Zoo, his then-8-year-old daughter spoke warmly of her father, calling him "her hero."

Carrying on her father's legacy, Irwin supports the Wildlife Warriors Worldwide charity, an organization that her parents founded in 2002.

On July 24, 2019, her 21st birthday, Irwin got engaged to longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell. They married on March 25, 2020, in a small ceremony held without guests due to the coronavirus outbreak. In August 2020, the pair announced they're expecting their first child in 2021.

Bindi in my eyes is such an inspirational person and someone who I have always looked up to. Yes the Irwin family might be iconic in the Aussies eyes but they truly are. Seeing Bindi continue what she loves doing and being the new generation of her father's legacy is something we should all strive to be like when challenges come our way.
