Welcome back to school, and to the new students, hello!
I am your C.A.R.E leader, Ameelea Nguyen :)
C.A.R.E stands for Committee for the Awareness and Restoration of the Environment.
C.A.R.E is our enthusiastic and committed Environmental group here at Bethlehem. Our group takes part in environmental events, initiatives, and fundraisers to promote sustainability and awareness at our school.
I’d like to introduce our C.A.R.E group to you all. We are Bethlehem College’s school environmental team, and this team has been running for over 20 years, with previous leaders, responsible for the environmental projects at our school.
The teacher that brings us all together and does the important work behind the scenes is no one other than Ms. McGrath, who has been in charge for several years. Ms. McGrath is passionate about raising awareness and educating students and teachers on global issues. (You will have the chance to see it at our school assemblies!)
Our group is constantly participating in community events and such examples that we have been involved in are the annual Clean Up Australia Day, 1 Million Women, and the AYCC Western Sydney Climate Change Justice Summit.
Through these experiences, we are able to connect with local communities and others around the world.
On Wednesday, the 3rd of February, the Year 11 and 12 members gathered together for our first meeting for 2021. We welcomed new members and discussed our plans to implement projects and initiatives this year. So far, we have some amazing ideas and we also hope to hear your say in this discussion.
We thank you all for your support and we hope to see you at our next meeting. Meetings for the Junior C.A.R.E members will be finalised soon, so keep a watch out for Compass notices!
