sometimes we have bad days, weeks, or even months. as humans, we tend to spiral out of control until we feel numb inside and not know how to get feeling back. so here are some ways to start feeling again and feel better !
sit in the sun even without anything to do: the best feeling is sitting in the sun and feeling the sun rays hit your skin. realise that this sunlight has travelled a long way from the sun to reach you and that means something.
sit quietly by yourself: sometimes we can get panicked about the smallest of things when we feel depressed about life. one thing I tend to do is sit down on the ground, feeling the earth underneath myself and just breathe.
listen to some of your favourite songs: I know when you’re sad you feel the need to listen to sad songs. I do it and I’m pretty sure so does everyone else but sometimes it's better to listen to songs that cheer you up. Blast them as loud as you possibly can (sorry mums), sing/scream along and just listen and feel the vibrations of your favourite lyrics.
drink some water and eat something: when we aren’t feeling ourselves we tend to forget about our basic needs which make us feel even worse. go get some food even if it’s just a small snack and go drink some water, it’ll make you feel a lot better.
lookup at the stars: the best thing for me is looking out at the stars at night time. It makes you realise how small we all are and how immense the universe is. remember that you are 7.8 billion people on this earth and you are one of those people and that you can make a difference.
cry: you may have read this point and thought these were tips to make me feel better but crying is okay. crying actually releases endorphins and other chemicals that make you feel better and help ease physical and emotional pain.
and with that, I’m going to end with something a friend told me- “we all make mistakes in life and that’s okay because your mistakes only have weight to you and nobody minds as much as you think they do.”
